Our Team

Dr. Arbet, an Ottawa native, has provided eye care to patients in Illinois for almost 40 years. 

Dr. Arbet moved to the Quad City area in 1984 and began seeing patients in June of 1984. He enjoys primary care optometry and is committed to helping people achieve their best vision. Detecting and managing various eye diseases and educating patients on their best possible treatment options is an important role for modern-day optometrists.

Dr. Arbet fits all kinds of different contact lenses and enjoys providing patients with the visual freedom they deserve. He enjoys all aspects of optometry and wants to be sure you enjoy healthy eyes and clear vision so you can enjoy life.

He and his wife Lori have been blessed with 3 children and 1 beautiful granddaughter (so far). He enjoys golfing, fishing, and gardening.

Dr. Lear practices primary care optometry and specializes in school-age children and contact lens fittings.

Dr. Lear is a native of Rock Island and was a patient himself at Rock Island Optometric Center since he was a child. He joined Rock Island Optometric Center in 1990 after completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Augustana College in Rock Island where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and also a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Science. His goal is to provide quality eye health and visual care that acknowledges each individual's unique visual demands.

He lives in Bettendorf Iowa with his wife Lyn and their two children.

Dr. Abigail Sharp is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care with a focus on primary eye care, contact lens fittings, and the diagnosis and management of eye disease. She is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and takes pride in ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.

Dr. Sharp earned her bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2018. Her approach combines clinical expertise with a genuine dedication to patient education, helping individuals better understand their vision and overall eye health.

Having been a patient of the practice herself as a child, Dr. Sharp brings a unique perspective and personal connection to the care she provides. She is proud to now serve the same community that played a role in her own eye care journey.

I grew up in Rock Island and have been going to Rock Island Optometric Center since my very first eye exam. I started pursuing my optometric education at Augustana College, then went on to Illinois College of Optometry where I graduated suma cum laude in May 2024.
 

I enjoy working with all types of patients and helping to care for all types of eye-related issues. I loved growing up in Rock Island and feel connected to this community of people so hopefully that shows through my dedication to my patients.

When I'm not in the office I plan on spending time outdoors with my family (I have a 1.5 year old daughter), playing soccer, and hosting game nights.

Dr. Jill Hays is honored to provide comprehensive eye care for patients aged 4 - 104 in and around Mercer County. 

Dr. Hays earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana, and received a Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1997.

She practices primary care optometry for the entire family with special interests in pediatrics, diabetic eye care, and occupational/farm safety including foreign body removal.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hays enjoys cooking, gardening, and making memories with family. She and her husband, Bill, live in Aledo and have three children.
